Where We Live
Glacier National Park is a 1,583-sq.-mi. wilderness area in Montana’s Rocky Mountains, with glacier-carved peaks and valleys running to the Canadian border. It’s crossed by the mountainous Going-to-the-Sun Road. Kalispell is the nearest city to Glacier National Park, and is about a one hour drive from Lake McDonald Lodge, and about a 2 1⁄2 – 3 hour drive from properties on the East Side of Glacier Park.
Glacier is a community living environment. Community living can be a great way to bond and create lifelong friendships with others who share similar interests and values, however, it does come with some challenges. Being prepared will help with your transition.
Employee housing varies by position, however, most is dormitory- style with communal bathrooms. Each dorm room accommodates 2 – 4 people and includes beds, wardrobes/closets and a chair and desk. Laundry facilities are available. Dormitory buildings do not have, nor allow, cooking facilities. You must be 18 years of age or older to live in company housing and must be actively employed by Xanterra. Pets, candles and smoking are not permitted in company housing.
Limited employee housing is available for couples as well. Please include your spouse’s/significant other’s name on your application if you are applying together.
We also have Tent sites and RV sites with hookups for those who wish to live in their own RV or trailer. Children and pets are welcome in our RV Park.
The Employee Dining Room (EDR) serves cafeteria-style meals that include a hot entrée and side dishes, sandwiches, salads, fruits, cereals and beverages. Vegetarian options are available at each meal, however, the EDR chef and crew are not able to accommodate all dietary needs such as vegan or allergy-related restrictions.
The cost for meals is included in the meals and lodging cost of $13.00/day. Meal plans are available for purchase for those employees living off -property.
